This was a brilliant couple of hours. The people running this place have so much knowledge about the history of the signal box, local area, trains running on the tracks right now, physics and engineering of the signal operations. They were excellent at engaging my 9yr old son with both knowledge and hands on operation of the signals. They shared their enthusiasm for railways and history and connected with him in a way that other museums have not been able.Just brilliant.
They regularly have an open weekend to come down and see how train signals used to work. Great piece of local history
Had a wonderful few hours with my 3 year old son. Fantastic volunteers who ate friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely simple afternoon out
We have been here a few times for their open days which have been a big hit with both of my young children. It is run by volunteers who love what they do and maintain the place to a high standard. It's worth a visit.
Super piece of railway heritage. Brought the cubs here for an evening and the team laid on a fantastic evening of demos and interactive signalling. The cubs can't wait to return. The place is kept in fantastic condition and is a real credit to the dedicated volunteers that keep it running.
