Good fish and chips but it took so long I got ticket on my lorry and it was free parking
Were refused service because we didn't want to order a main.A small group of us wanted to get chips as a quick snack. When we ordered at the take-out till we said we just wanted to sit in to eat it, but were not looking for a restaurant experience. The man then cancelled our order and told us we had to go to the restaurant bit. After we sat down we tried to order. I was refused chips and a small side dish because they apparently only serve chips with a main in the restaurant. Considering we are all vegan, there were no mains suitable for us. The waiter refused to serve us because we did not want to order a main so after having wasted ten minutes in this place, being sent from the take-away till to the restaurant bit, we left. Total waste of time and extremely rude. The place was empty apart from one person, and this was on a Saturday evening. Apparently they are not interested in serving people food. AVOID.
Best fish and chips and also the friendliest service ever!The waiter was new and another gentleman (perhaps the owner) helped him to take our order. The chefs were very friendly, too. Great size portions ( had a regular cod and partner had a large. Oh, and the gherkins are to die for!:)) We visited in the afternoon on a weekday, probably very busy on the weekends. We will definitely return!
Best chip shop in st Albans... Went in for a take away iver the weekend... Was quite busy but were served and had our food within minutes.Food was great too, fresh and warm.
