Disappointed by the lack of historical contact. A missed opportunity to expand on the information given about the development of St Albans over the centuries. Too much space given over to the shop and cafe particularly as there are already so many coffee shops in the area.
This is a great place in the middle of st Albans for a quick break. The food could be better. Sausage rolls are filling but rolls need to be fresher and less firm.
With an ever changing exhibition, this new, free museum is somewhere to bring the whole family. Theres a cozy cafe and seating available inside in the old court room of the town hall! The old prison cells under the building are also open to view, with some interesting history displayed inside them about the St. Albans constabulary. The ball room upstairs is also spectacular!
A recently refurbished local museum with a temporary paid exhibition space included. You need to take a bit of time to discover the full range of things on display. This is not your average 'history of' style local museum. It felt closer to an arts centre in many respects.
Small and compact courtroom that has been transformed into a local museum. If you want to know more about the history of St. Albans then this is the right place to go. In one room laid out multiple children board games so if you are parents it's also a lovely place to both educate and entertain your children.
