I visited the Verulamium Museum in February 2019 and I have to say it was most enjoyable with much to read. I really liked the various sets which showcased the lives led by different people who would have lived in Verulamium. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the museum and are able to help you. The museum is also very reasonable and is perfect for a place to go to if it's wet and miserable outside. The one thing that is letting the museum down would be to have a scale model of what the town looked like. I feel something like this would be great for the visitor as so little of the original Roman settlement is now left it would help your imagination to see the past.
Never been a Museum person really, but this one really surprised me with great selection of findings and juicy information about local people and Verulamium. Interesting talks happen every Saturday, toilets are clean and staff is extremely helpful.
Great museum and made even better as was free for us because we have an AL2 post code. Very informative. We've just taken up metal detecting so to see all the amazing different coins that's been found in the area was fascinating.
Great school trip to discover more about Roman Britain. The children enjoyed exploring the different scenes and finding out about Roman life.
Great museum. We were Lucky to get some very interesting comments about the mummies from the lady Who works there. She was charming
