Set lunch menu is really nice and great value. Nice environment and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
We went there for a family dinner with the kids and had a great experience. The staff are very friendly and mindful of even seemingly small details. There was a little mix up though which led to the main course being served before the starter, but this was corrected. When the starter was done we however endured a very long wait before the main course was served despite the restaurant not being very busy at the time. The restaurant also had just one menu choice of kids meal. Overall we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the food was worth the wait.
Took husband here for lunch yesterday. Nice buzz when we walked in and although we arrived early for our booking we were seated without problem. Lovely. We chose the Christmas set menu at 30 a head. But that didn't come with vegetables so advised to order 2 sides at (for a cabbage and carrot mix) 3.50 per portion. We also had bread and butter. My gluten free offer was 2 teeny tiny dolls sized slices. Served in a bread tin that dwarfed them. When I asked for more was told it would cost a further 90p. The food was good, interesting choices cooked and seasoned well. But 7 for cabbage & carrot for 2! Why not put a bit of veg on the plate with no extra charge? And why not be generous with the bread! Give diners a sense of generosity and plenty to match the great environment and atmosphere. Chocolate mousse with honeycomb was fab by the way.
Three course set lunch for 17.50 is great value. Great food, fantastic service. Highly recommend it. Keep badgering them to bring back the peppercorn sauce though. The bernaise is delicious but has a slight onion taste.
Very enjoyable evening. Friendly attentative staff, pleasant surroundings and most importantly, very tasty food. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I found none the starter options to my liking.
