Excellent historic pub close to Abbey and Roman museum. Mixed crowd, relaxed atmosphere, good hospitality. Good range of regional real ales. Had the slow roasted tomato linguine which was substantial and tasty. Quirky exterior, one of those pubs that claims to be in the oldest in the UK. Has won awards.
Really old looking pub. Nice. Got there a bit late so the restaurant was closed but the bar keep was pleasant and willing to offer advice on the bar options. The ambiance was lovely, crackling fire n all, and the company very lively. Definitely coming back
Great place for a beer and some food! A rich history behind this pub! Staff are always super helpful and attentive!
We had a really nice visit here, we visited a couple of town centre pubs and as it was a Saturday night, they were buzzing... However we wanted to catch up with friends. We came here and had a table where we could chat, drink and have a good laugh and had a great time. The selection of drinks are fantastic, friendly staff. The other patrons were friendly and overall a great night out. Thanks guys.
Great little pub... Nice rustic feel to it... The staff are really friendly... We had a great lunch here, food was served quickly and full of flavour... There is also a great beer garden for the summer months... Some tables out front which are nice for a relaxing drink, listening to river and looking over the park...
